Sorry it’s been so long. Our blog platform was under maintenance and once it was finished… I wish I had an excuse for that lol. God has been doing so much. I’m in Romania now (woohoo!) and I’ll be honest, it’s been hard. I love it here but it is so spiritually dark. Orthodox is the main religion here, and while it’s technically Christianity, it’s very works and tradition based. We are partnering with a church here called Hope Church, and they are changing the way that Christianity looks here. They’re showing the community that it’s not as much about following rules and traditions as much as it’s about forming a relationship with the God of the universe.

Anyways, my squad and I have mainly been working with the youth of Craiova ( that’s the city we’re in) we are working to meet them, become friends with them, invite them to youth group, invest in their lives, and ultimately introduce them to their Heavenly Father. I’m working on starting a Bible study for the kids that we will lead until we leave. These kids don’t have true Christian community, most of these kid’s parents don’t even support their “radical” faith, they’re being persecuted and treated unfairly in school as well. My biggest goal is to change that. I don’t want them to simply come to youth group once a week, I want them to invest in one another’s lives and get to know the Lord as a collective group. I think that one big step in this will be this Bible study. It will become a place to get fed and feed and feed one another. Light is breaking through the cracks in this broken place. Light that can’t be put out, light that destroys all the darkness, light that brings growth. God is working here, more than any of us know.
